The feasibility study of Tainan Project was approved by Executive Yuan on October 30, 1993 and agreed
that Taiwan Provincial Government shall carry on the project. With the view of the simplification of the
government's executive level, MOTC commanded that RRB take over it on July 13, 1999.

The summary description of this project. |
| (1) |
Estimated construction scope: total length is 7.55 kilometers from 360 meters south of Jonghuah Bridge to
1.41 kilometers south of Shengchan Road.

Estimated construction works are as follows: |
| a. |
Constructing one 6.61 kilometers single-tube tunnel with two tracks, 0.94 kilometers ramp section as
well as one underground station with 3 floors.

| b. |
The main structure of old Tainan Station remains for antiquity. |
| c. |
Peripheral works: including the additional construction works at Shannhuah, Yeongkang, Baoan stations.

| d. |
Temporary works: Tainan Temporary Station, temporary line. |
| e. |
The detailed planning for multipurpose high- rise station structure: BOT method shall be adopted for
construction of the multipurpose building.

Estimated construction cost: US$ 0.86 billion. |

Estimated construction time: estimated totally 7 years (not including multipurpose building).
